• Wedgefield University for Kids was founded in 2011 under the leadership of Joy Truesdale and Pastor Paul Goff as a ministry dedicated to providing Christ-centered education and spiritual discipleship for children and families in our community.

The school officially opened its doors in July 2012, serving students from Nursery through 4K while also providing after-school care. From the beginning, our vision included steady growth, with a commitment to add one grade level each year. First grade was introduced in 2014, and in May 2019 we celebrated our first fifth-grade graduating class. Middle school was added the following fall, culminating in our first eighth-grade graduation in May 2022.

  • As a ministry of Wedgefield Baptist Church, Wedgefield University for Kids is founded upon the truth of God's Word and exists to glorify Him in every aspect of education. Our purpose extends beyond academic instruction; we seek to nurture the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social development of each student while pointing them toward a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our academic program utilizes the ABeka curriculum, published by ABeka Books of Pensacola, Florida, in association with Pensacola Christian College. Students receive a strong foundation in reading, writing, and arithmetic, while also engaging in science, social studies, seasonal studies, and community-based learning experiences. Local community leaders and professionals often participate in these educational units, enriching students' understanding of the world around them.

Biblical truth is intentionally woven throughout every area of instruction. Students participate in Bible lessons that include Scripture study, memory verses, worship songs, and hands-on learning activities. Through all subjects and experiences, we strive to teach God's love, His purpose for our lives, and the principles of Christian living.

The ultimate goal of Wedgefield University for Kids is to lead children to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, equip them with a biblical worldview, and provide an excellent education that prepares them for future success. We are committed to partnering with parents in the biblical responsibility of raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, helping students develop the wisdom and character necessary to navigate life's challenges faithfully.

Our student body and faculty represent a variety of church backgrounds and denominations united by a shared commitment to Christ. Our teachers serve not only as educators but also as Christian role models who seek to influence students academically, spiritually, and morally.

  • Since its inception, this ministry has depended upon God's faithful provision and guidance. Through the generosity of Wedgefield Baptist Church, tuition support from families, and contributions from members of the community, the school is able to provide quality facilities, educational resources, staff development, and operational support necessary to fulfill its mission.

By God's grace, the partnership of church members, families, faculty, and community supporters has made Wedgefield University for Kids a reality. While we receive no government funding or grants, we remain committed to providing an education that combines academic excellence with practical biblical instruction. We continually pray that God will raise up individuals, families, churches, and organizations who share this vision and desire to invest in the next generation.
